Sound bath Preparation and post care
You're getting ready to attend a virtual sound bath for the first time and you're unsure how to prepare for the event. I have some tips that will help you set up before you attend your virtual sound bath.
You will want to start by preparing your space. Having the room clean will help elevate your meditation and help with energy flow. Make sure the area that you have chosen for your experience will be left undisturbed during that time. Pillows, blankets, and eye masks are helpful, but not mandatory.
The atmosphere needed is ‘calm’. To achieve that you may dim the lights and/or light some candles. Light incense or place some essential oils in a diffuser. Use scents that would enhance relaxation. My personal favorite is palo santo and sandalwood.
Have a glass of water nearby. For anyone who has crystals you can bring them into the room and place them around or on yourself.
The last thing you will want to do before your session is setting up your audio. If you are viewing the virtual sound bath on your computer, arrive at the designated website a few minutes ahead and set up your sound. If you're viewing from your cell phone, you can use the speaker or set up headphones.
After you finish setting up, you are ready! All you have to do is wait for the host to arrive!
When the sound bath starts, follow the host's instructions. During the sound bath you may lay down, use a meditation pillow or sit in a chair. Once the music starts allow your body to relax. If the position you are in becomes uncomfortable, slowly shift your body into a more comfortable position. Slow movements will keep you from disturbing your meditative state, and will not take away from your experience.
Once the sound bath is over, take a moment to come to your senses. Take a few moments to journal about your journey, how you felt, any thoughts or ideas that came to you. For the remainder of the day take it easy. Rehydrate, Rehydrate Rehydrate!
Sound baths can release toxins in your body, by drinking water it will flush out those toxins. Drinking water will also help the energy flow in your body's meridians, help balance your chakras and personal biofield.
